Arc Name Service maps readable .arc names to addresses on Arc Network. Ownership, expiry, resolution, and primary-name records are enforced by contracts.

Forward resolution

arc.arc → 0x1234...7890

Applications resolve the name before preparing a transaction.

Reverse resolution

0x1234...7890 → arc.arc

A primary name is accepted only when it resolves back to the same address.

Lifecycle

  1. RegisterThe wallet receives ownership for a fixed period.
  2. ManageThe owner updates the resolved address and records.
  3. RenewThe owner extends registration before or during grace.
  4. ReleaseAfter expiry and grace, the name can be registered again.
